GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION!
Volunteers

Our "League of Volunteers" continues to grow!  We have been very busy with many events and tabling opportunities!  We are now looking for office volunteers to help in our administrative section as well!  And, you can sign up to volunteer on our next special event!  Contact Mary Stump at msgllf@tampabay.rr.com or at 727.586.7398.  Also, check out our Calendar of Events to see others ways in which you can participate!

Our volunteer group has grown to approximately 70 individuals whose commitment and perseverance to our organization is palpable at times!  There is always someone calling in to "ask" what needs to be done.  Still, more hands on will be needed as we reach July 2005 and the completion of the new Library.  Read on - there's something for everyone!

Thank you to all our volunteers (too many here to mention) for helping with the preparation and planning and attendance at the VIP Preview Party we held July 30!  It was a blast and nary a complaint of aching feet or tired eyes!  Too much to do and play with and enjoy at the party!

Our next quarterly mailing of the newsletter will be near October.  If you would like to attend one of our very "social" mail gatherings, please contact Mary at the number provided herein.  We have a really good time catching up with each other.  At last count, 22 volunteers helped prepare and label approximately 5,000 newsletters!

We'd love your suggestions, comments and inquiries.

Please consider working on a Board committee, as well.  We are shaping up recruitment for committee members at the Board level.  Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of every month.  Our Board is active, creative and enthusiastic about what they are doing for the Library.

A membership drive is underway for the Greater Largo Library Foundation.  Multi level involvement and costs!  Contact Mary at the number provided herein for more information or stop by the Library to pick up an application in the lobby!  Members participate in our annual voting held each January!

Also, the "Friends of the Library" is a very active group as well.  They have been successfully operating the bookstore which supports the Library and its many programs.    Beginning in January, the annual membership fee will begin at its standard $10.

Help will be needed soon at the Library to prepare 5,000 bulk mailings for our quarterly newsletter.  Sign on now!  9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Contact Mary Stump, 586-7398.

There is always plenty of opportunity to work within the Library itself!  Many children's programs, classes, genealogy research use volunteers such as yourself.  You name it, we've got a place for YOU!
