What Is The Foundation?
The Greater Largo Library Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation created to promote supplemental financial support
from the community for the Largo Library. Presently, the Foundation seeks to raise funds to help support the Library in the
construction and move to the new Library facility.
Why Are Additional Funds Necessary?
Governmental (City, Cooperative, State) funding allows the Largo Library to provide a basic level of services and facilities.
However, private funding and endowment are the elements that allow a good library to grow into a great library and flourish,
serving the growing needs of all users regardless of age, education, and interests.
How Is Financial Support Encouraged?
The Foundation accepts donations on behalf of the Largo Library. Donations may be specified or collected for definite projects
or used to increase the endowment fund, the interest from which will be used to provide funds for specific library services.
A year-round program of major projects and events to focus community attention on the Foundation has been developed to
elicit financial support to enhance the facilities and services that the Largo Library provides.
The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is a unique and lasting visual tribute to those who have made
monetary donations for the benefit of the Largo Library. It is through the generous gifts of these contributors that our dreams
can become reality.
Leaves on the Tree will be engraved with the donors name, or in honor of any specified individual or individuals. Depending
on the section of the tree, leaves will represent donations of $100-249, $250-499, or $500-999.
Rocks in varying sizes can also be placed under the tree for donations of $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, or more.
Giving Need Not Be A One-Way Street!
We also encourage you to explore the possibilities of GIFTS THAT GIVE BACK by printing out and returning the Donation/Information
Page to us to make a donation, request more information, or about getting more involved in the Greater Largo Library
Foundation.
